|
A very quiet little town considering it is just a few miles South of Edinburgh. Most shops are on the pedestrianised John St but this links to the High Street and the shops there are set back from the main road. Very close to Penicuik is Rosslyn Chapel. Rosslyn Chapel has been world famous for many years but in recent times has become more widely known as a result of Dan Brown's book, The Da Vinci Code. The Chapel is a few miles South of Edinburgh centre in Roslin village on the B7006, which is off the Edinburgh to Peebles road (starts as the A703, becomes the A701 through Penicuick and then reverts back to the A703 after Leadburn). |
