I stock good quality secondhand, out-of-print and antiquarian books with an emphasis on:
- Children's current and collectable fiction.
- History.
- Modern novels, especially the classics and including some 1st editions.
- Myths, Legends & Folklore.
- New Age.
- Occult.
- World Religions.
- Psychology.
- Scottish interest (especially books on local history and topography).
I also try to keep in stock the well-known illustrators and, of course, some fine bindings.
"Reading is a basic tool in living the good life" Mortimer J. Adler
Almost every book one could possibly want is available through the Internet these days, but the true lover of books still likes a good browse in a pleasant environment where the books can be handled physically, their condition assessed, their contents sampled and their covers felt, fondled (and even smelled when good leather has been used!) It is my personal creed that every town should have at least one bookshop and if that shop happens to be selling secondhand and out-of-print books then so much the more interesting. There are few surprises to be had in new bookstores these days (though they are still a treat I enjoy occasionally.)
My stock isn't large (around 9,000) restricted as I am by space, but I keep in mind a comment from the irascible Drif (who in his countless visits to secondhand bookshops throughout Britain compiled guides to the best and the worst.) "It is not always true that small bookshops are good, but it is invariably the case that large bookshops are bad, and the larger they are the worse they are."
I am happy to undertake searches for books and can order titles for customers who dislike using the Internet themselves.

I welcome browsers and promise not to be the sort of bookseller defined in
Drif's Guide as having the following characteristics:
GOB (Grand Old Bore)
Inbies (Important Neckwear Brigade)
CLOT (Candidate for Librarian on the Titanic)
FARTS (Follows Around Recommending The Stock)
